This is a recording of a webinar held live on 28 August 2020.
This was the third in the YP Career Lift webinar series that empowers students, young professionals and emerging leaders of all ages to tap into their potential and find career fulfilment.
As we progress through our careers, it's natural to take sometimes unexpected directions or to realise we want to learn more in a particular area to help us go further. Join us as we explore how to make your career work for you though delving into two interrelated topics that are handy when facing a decision point: entrepreneurship for a side business or a whole new direction for your career, and further education and the benefits it can bring through mid-career. You will hear from Tim Neale, Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019, and David Monti, manager of People and Culture for Transport for NSW, as they share their experiences, advice and tips and tricks.
Tim Neale | Managing Director, DATAFARMING
Tim, who was named Agricultural Consultant of the year 2018, has over 25 years’ experience across Australia and internationally, 20 of which has been spent running his own business. Tim’s strong ag tech focus has been driven by an evolution from CTF, auto-steer guidance technology, elevation mapping and water planning, yield mapping, variable rate, soil mapping, and satellite imagery.
David Monti | Manager Culture, Transport for NSW
David is a passionate advocate for personal and professional development. He has worked for a number of years across industries in strategic People and Culture roles focusing on supporting people and organisations be at their best, including most recently as the Manager Culture at Transport for NSW. On the topic of career pathways, he originally began his career as a high performance swimming coach in Australia and the UK before moving into his corporate career a number of years ago. With a background in organisational psychology, he is a firm believer in the role of a learning mindset and outcomes-oriented development in career progression.
