eCPD - The future role of geospatial professional bodies

SSSI is proud to foster strong relationships with a number of geospatial professional bodies, both locally and internationally. In this online panel session, we joined with key representatives of a number of these organisations to discuss the future of the spatial industry and how professional bodies will play their part in this, ensuring ongoing benefits for members.

Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute
SSSI is Australia's peak body representing the interests of surveying and spatial science professionals, combining the disciplines of land surveying, engineering & mining surveying, cartography, hydrography, remote sensing and spatial information science.
Our President, Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse, represented SSSI on the panel.
The Association for Geographic Information
AGI exists to represent the interests of the UK's geospatial industry. As the Association for Geographic Information, they lead, connect and develop a community of individual and corporate members who use and benefit from geographic information.
AGI was represented on the panel by their Chair, Denise McKenzie.
Survey and Spatial New Zealand
S+SNZ is the professional body representing survey and spatial professionals in New Zealand. More than that, they are a community who work collaboratively to strengthen and celebrate the knowledge, capability and innovation within this exciting sector for the benefit of their society.
S+SNZ's President, Kathryn Salm, represented this association on the panel.
ASEAN Federation of Land Surveying and Geomatics
AFLAG is a modern and vibrant professional organisation promoting and protecting the interest and welfare of its members, advancing the state- of-the-art generation and enabling effective application of reliable land survey and geomatics information products, ensuring mobility of surveyors and allied professionals along with sustaining relevance in the regional and international geospatial information management industry.
The AFLAG President, Gerry Ong Kim Sun, participated on the panel.
