Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act Dealing
Over the past few years, the state of Victoria has undertaken numerous high-profile transport projects to deliver significant benefits for the people of Victoria. These projects move quickly and acquire both freehold and crown land for their delivery. The challenge for the Land Registry Services area of Land Use Victoria, has been the capture of these acquisitions in a dynamic environment.
The creation of a specific dealing, enabled Land Use Victoria to capture these acquisitions and update the Register. Under the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act, land can be dealt with in several sections which meet the requirements of each individual project’s needs.
This presentation will briefly touch on: the origins of the dealing; historical practices; challenges and innovations that give effect to accurately capturing acquisitions; and updating the Register.
One (1) Cadastral Survey Practice point was allocated to this webinar session.
