Recording of a live webinar held on 2 March 2022.
Did you miss Peter's presentation at the Queensland conference in November or want to know more about the topic?
This webinar walked through time to provide an understanding on how native title came to be recognised, enshrined in law and then subject to future acts and compensation. In this seminar the law will be explained as it currently stands, and an explanation given to put current issues in context. The focus largely turned to compensation claims which make the next wave of native title disputation in our Courts.
Our speaker was Peter Matus, Special Counsel at Salerno Law.
Peter is currently Special Counsel at Salerno Law, in Queensland, and specialises in compensation litigation. He has been admitted as a legal practitioner in Qld since 1992 and is also an accredited specialist in personal injury law. From November 2019, he has worked on the largest native title compensation claims made to date. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering with SLS at Burleigh Heads.
