Demystifying Final Survey Data and Deliverables for charting, AHO Quality Control and Assessment, and the use of Bathymetric and De-Conflicted Surfaces
Come along and hear Staff Office Quality Control at the AHO provide tips for the production of Final Survey Data, details on the AHO assessment process, feedback on common survey quality issues, and an overview on how this process is changing in preparation for the commencement of the Hydrographic Industry Partnership Programme. Presenter LCDR Nigel Townsend, RAN, CPHS1 will also explore the evolving use of bathymetric survey data and surfaces to support Nautical Chart production and provide an update on CPHS certification.
LCDR Townsend has 20 years’ experience in Navy and 15 years in industry undertaking surveys for charting for a wide range of government authorities, and currently assesses survey data a from Navy, Ports and industry submitted to the AHO for Charting. LCDR Townsend is also currently on the AHSCP certification Panel.
The presentation is targeted at any person seeking an understanding of the data rendering and quality assurance processes used by Australia’s National Hydrographic Office.
Note: The session will be held onboard HMAS Cairns, and any non-Navy attendees will require escort throughout the session. Non-Navy attendees will need to arrive NLT 20 minutes before the commencement of the session.
