The Series
The event topics are:
- Where do I Start? GIS Basics
- Where to find open data? How to use it?
- Converting to/from GIS and CAD
- Data exchange
- Geospatial data management and automation (this session)
- What does the future hold?
Session Five
Data exchange between stakeholders is an important part of the data management. In this workshop, we will provide an overview of how data can be prepared in various formats (manual, such as pdf, or digital such as LandXML) and explore how various stakeholders (such as councils or construction industry) might then use these. We look at simple software and tools you can use, and walk through geospatial data processing methods, including data preparation, transformation, geometry validation and quality checking.
