AEST
Come and join our local Young Professionals to explore five centuries of cartography from around the world in the Map Rooms of the State Library of NSW.
Across two beautiful rooms, attendees will discover some of the most important maps, globes and navigation instruments from the Library's maps collection, with an expert on hand to highlight some important pieces, such as Surveyor-General Thomas Mitchell’s ‘Map of the Nineteen Counties’ compiled in 1834, a wonderful hand-coloured example. Click here to find out more about the incredible collection.
This event will be a great opportunity for students, early career professionals and anyone interested in cool maps to learn and network in an informal setting!
The event will begin in the Map Rooms for the tour for around an hour, and we will then move to a local pub for some drinks to follow.
