OGC is a worldwide community committed to improving access to geospatial (location) information. They connect people, communities, and technology to solve global challenges and address everyday needs. The organisation represents over 500 businesses, government agencies, research organizations, and universities united with a desire to make location information FAIR – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
The OGC community creates free, publicly available geospatial standards that enable new technologies. OGC also manages an agile and collaborative research & development process - the OGC Innovation Program - that anticipates and solves real-world geospatial challenges experienced by their members.
SSSI is proud to partner with OGC to present a four part webinar series from August to November:
- Part 1 - Meet the OGC Leadership team
- Part 2: The OGC Geospatial Technology Trends - Guiding the future of Location
- Part 3: Modernizing the Location standards baseline - OGC APIs
- Part 4: Standards and Interoperability: business value and impact stories
In this session, OGC's CTO, George Percivall, will share what the OGC community is doing to track the latest tech innovations and forecast their impacts on the geospatial field. The session will present some findings from OGC's latest Tech Trends report to enable you to inform your organization's strategy using trusted technology forecasting, identify new areas of research and potential strategic partnerships, and to plan your technology direction.
