SSSI/OGC Webinar Series: Modernising the Location standards baseline - OGC APIs
Date & Time
Friday, 2 Oct 2020
- 11:00 am
OGC is a worldwide community committed to improving access to geospatial (location) information. They connect people, communities, and technology to solve global challenges and address everyday needs. The organisation represents over 500 businesses, government agencies, research organizations, and universities united with a desire to make location information FAIR – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
The OGC community creates free, publicly available geospatial standards that enable new technologies. OGC also manages an agile and collaborative research & development process - the OGC Innovation Program - that anticipates and solves real-world geospatial challenges experienced by their members.
SSSI is proud to partner with OGC to present a four part webinar series from August to November:
- Part 1 - Meet the OGC Leadership team
- Part 2: The OGC Geospatial Technology Trends - Guiding the future of Location
- Part 3: Modernizing the Location standards baseline - OGC APIs
- Part 4: Standards and Interoperability: business value and impact stories
In this session, OGC's head of standards, Scott Simmons, will share how OGC is evolving its standards baseline for accessing geospatial/location information via the OGC APIs. The OGC API family of standards is being developed to make it easy to provide geospatial data to the web. They build on the OGC Web Service standards (WMS, WFS, WCS, WPS, etc) but define resource-centric APIs that take advantage of modern web development practices.
If you have an application or a use case that requires integration of geospatial/location information, this is your opportunity to learn about the latest, simplest and most interoperable way to do that!
By registering below, you receive access to the watch the webinar live OR if you can't watch it live, you receive the link to the recording 24 hours after the event date. You can then watch the recording at your leisure.
