SSSI VIC Women in Spatial PD Seminar

Date & Time

Thursday, 24 Oct 2019
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for a Women in Spatial seminar on Thursday 24 October from 5:30pm. All are welcome!

Our speakers: Helli Kotasek, Digital Transformation Director at RPS, who spoke at the recent breakfast seminar, Helli will be speaking on "Establishing Your Strategic Presence". Erin Davidson, is a volunteer speaker with Beyond Blue and hopes to raise awareness about anxiety and depression.

Helli Kotasek

Helli is passionate about all things geospatial. She believe geospatial data, technology and people are a powerful combination to drive better business and social outcomes.

Helli has over 25 years' experience in the sector, starting as a technical office in NSW Agriculture in the early 90's using satellite imagery and 'ancient' GIS software through to her Digital Transformation Director role at RPS today where she is recommending, amongst other things, strategic focus be placed on elevating the company's geospatial capabilities and services.

Come and hear Helli's practical tips on how to progress your career from a technical operator to a strategic geospatial leader.

Helli says; "You're in the right industry. Stick with it because there's nothing geospatial can't solve and the future is bright"

Erin Davidson

Erin is a volunteer speaker for beyondblue, a national organisation that works to raise awareness about anxiety and depression, reduce the associated stigma and encourage people to get help.

Erin became a beyondblue speaker because it was relating to someone else's story on the beyondblue website that finally made her seek help. She now hopes that she can reach others and offer hope with her own story.

Erin is a fundraising professional and in her spare time enjoys live comedy and long drives in the countryside in search for the best hot chocolate in Victoria.

Erin also enjoys hiking as a way of keeping mentally healthy and has conquered Mt Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp in recent years. A fun fact about Erin is that she has jumped out of perfectly good aeroplanes and has frolicked with very cute penguins in Antarctica.
