Join us for this webinar on the important topic of diversity and inclusion in the surveying and spatial industry, from the perspective of young professionals.
Brittany Dahl is a Geospatial Consultant at Geoplex with more than 5 years’ experience delivering imagery solutions, GIS and advisory services to clients in public, private, and tertiary sectors. Brittany joined the imagery team at Geoplex last year to assist with Planet satellite imagery sales and account management across Australia. Brittany’s academic background in GIS science and experience at Esri Australia provides her with extensive knowledge of spatial modelling and imagery, used to solve business problems for Geoplex’s clients.
Callum Smith is a Geospatial and Digital Delivery consultant at Aurecon based in Auckland, New Zealand. He’s been with Aurecon for 3 years now and recently completed his masters part-time, analysing how can accelerate infrastructure development. In 2018 Callum set up a networking and support platform, LGBTI+ in STEM, aimed at improving the visibility of the rainbow community within the STEM fields, fields that are known to be less inclusive for most minority’s. In 2019 Callum spoke at NZ Parliament about his experiences in D&I within engineering at the launch of The Diversity Agenda Accord – an accord that holds engineering and architectural firms to account on diversity and inclusion.
Mary-Ellen Feeney has been a spatial practitioner and project manager since 1998. She specialises in project development, management and documentation of technical and data-based projects, as well as in strategic and technical capacity building, and multidisciplinary coordination. She has worked on hydrographic, GIS standards, water, energy, property and transport infrastructure projects for federal and state governments. Mary-Ellen is a member of the NSW Government Board of Surveying and Spatial Information, the SSSI NSW Chair and a member of the SSSI Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Commission Committee. Mary-Ellen is also a global leader of STEMM.
