GeoAI Trends Webinar – How geospatial professionals can get ready

Date & Time

Tuesday, 10 Aug 2021
4:30 pm - 6:00 pm AEST

Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning (AI/ML) applications are becoming pervasive in the systems and solutions we use daily. Also, we are witnessing sustained increases in AI/ML investments from both public and commercial organizations. Nations around the globe are making efforts to ensure that they are well prepared to leverage these technological advances for addressing the environmental and societal challenges ahead.

In the geospatial field, a wide range of AI/ML use cases and opportunities emerge with great promise in innovation, breakthrough efficiency gains, and addressing previously unsolvable problems. The advent of GeoAI is leading the evolution of new business models.

The World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC) is a global not-for-profit trade association of private sector companies working in the geospatial ecosystem. In 2020, WGIC commissioned a study on Geospatial AI/ML (GeoAI). As per the report, technological advancements will continue to push the GeoAI field forward. Some of these technological advancements will lead to breakthrough applications during this decade and beyond.

As GeoAI becomes prevalent, the geospatial profession as we know it, will also change. It, therefore, becomes essential for geospatial professionals to better understand these trends, be familiar with the GeoAI offerings, and get ready for this transition.

The virtual event, organised by WGIC in partnership with SSSI, aims to educate SSSI members and the broader spatial community on the GeoAI trends, value, and benefits.
