GEO (Group on Earth Observations) Week 2019 is a global event, and for the first time in its existence it will take place in Australia, in Canberra from the 4-9 November 2019. It will include the GEO Ministerial Summit – bringing together Minister’s from GEO’s member government, and only occurs every four years. In addition, the UN Science-Policy-Business Forum on the Environment will too take place during GEO Week. This is therefore a unique opportunity to connect with a global audience focused and interested in earth observations (drone, aerial, space), and probably the biggest scale EO event of the year in Australia.
Some of our members may be interested in registering to participate in the GEO Week 2019 Industry Track, aimed at building relationships between technology, spatial, space and forward-thinking companies, users and the GEO community – including government delegations from over 100 countries and international agencies.
This is a great opportunity to meet users and collaborators, and interact with government and private organisations from across the world.
Among other events that week, FrontierSI will lead and facilitate three sessions during the Industry Track and willbe helping out at the Hackathon – empowering indigenous youth to address community challenges using open Earth observation data.
Please contact Eva Rodriguez or Phil Delaney from FrontierSI if you have any questions.
