President’s Awards – Amelia Davies
Amelia is a leader and exceptional role model for our sector and is currently the Director of Location Capability at the Australian Bureau of Statistics. It is her style of being an inclusive leader which makes her stand out above others. Amelia champions the importance of diversity and inclusive workplaces in our sector through her role as Chair of the Space, Spatial and Surveying Diversity Leadership Network. Amelia understands that everyone has a voice and everyone should be given equal opportunity to be heard. Amelia thank you for shining a light on the importance of diversity and inclusion and it is when we have diversity that new ideas and true innovation can really occur.
Eminence Award – Greg Scott
Greg Scott is the Inter-regional Advisor for the United Nations Statistics Division which he joined in early 2012 with the specific task of establishing the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) and growing its role and relevance with Member States and related International Organizations involved in national, regional and global geospatial information management. Greg provides strategic policy advice and leadership, and guides the development, coordination and implementation of the substantive content for the Committee of Experts, including its High-Level Forum's, international technical capacity development workshops, and other international fora. Prior to joining the UN, Greg spent 25 years at Geoscience Australia in several key roles delivering Australia’s national topographic mapping and derivative geospatial programs and providing independent scientific analysis and advice in the use of geospatial information for environmental management, emergency management, and critical infrastructure protection.
