SSSI Academic Achievement Awards for USQ

SSSI Queensland would like to congratulate the following SSSI Award Winners at USQ:

SSSI Qld Northern Group Students Prize (GIS) - Miss Melissa Ruff

Awarded to the graduating student in the Bachelor of Spatial Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology who demonstrates a high level of academic achievement and who resides in regional Queensland. Student needs to have majored in Geographic Information Systems. (above Rockhampton)​

SSSI Qld Spatial Science Technology Prize - Mr David Bradstreet

Awarded to the graduating student from the Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology who demonstrates the highest level of proficiency in both practical and academic work.

SSSI Centenary Prize - Mr Scott Johnson

Awarded to the graduating student in Bachelor of Spatial Science (Honours) (Surveying 4 year degree course) who demonstrates a high level of proficiency in practical and academic work and has demonstrated a sincere interest in the profession.

SSSI Qld Spatial Science Graduate Coursework Prize - Mr Rohan Etherington

Awarded to the graduating student from the Master of Spatial Science Technology or Graduate Diploma of Geomatic Studies who demonstrates the highest level of proficiency in both the coursework and dissertation.

SSSI Qld Northern Group Students Prize - Mr Leigh Tingle

Awarded to the graduating student in the Bachelor of Spatial Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology who demonstrates a high level of academic achievement and who resides in regional Queensland (above Rockhampton).


Roy Somerville & Leigh Tingle

On the 20 April the Graduate Awards were given to the Winners at a ceremony held at USQ in Toowoomba.  Roy Somerville, the SSSI Qld Chair, was very proud to give Leigh Tingle his award.  Unfortunately the other Award Winners could not attend the ceremony but they have been notified of their achievement.

Leigh Tingle was also the recent Winner of the 2017 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards!  Great work in representing Queensland at this prestigious level.
