We are delighted to announce our new four-year partnership with the Pacific Geospatial and Surveying Council (PGSC). PGSC is the regional body that represents the geospatial and surveying authorities of Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs). This new global partnership will facilitate coordination, communication and collaboration and the sharing of resources and applications of location information to advance and promote the surveying and geospatial science industries.
Ms Meizyanne Hicks, Director – Geospatial Information Division and Vice Chair of the PGSC, Lands and Survey Department, Fiji, and Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse, President of SSSI, signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the South East Asia Survey Congress (SEASC 2019) in Darwin on Sunday 18 August 2019.

PGSC’s Ms. Meizyanne Hicks said, “The outcome of this MOU will provide much needed support and development opportunities for surveyors and geospatial professionals in the Pacific region dealing with environmental, economic and social challenges in their countries.”
Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse added, “It is a great pleasure and honour to sign the MoU between SSSI and PGSC today at SEASC 2019 in Darwin. I strongly believe the agreement will strengthen our collaboration and knowledge sharing between Australia and the Pacific Island Nations to develop a progressive community and better practice for geospatial professional development.”
