Welcome to the TAS Geomessage and a special welcome to our newest Tasmanian members!

As we move into the second half of the year, the Committee has been busy organising the annual Tasmanian Surveying & Spatial Conference which will be held in Launceston on September 3rd. The preliminary program has been released and there is a fantastic line up of speakers. After the conference we invite you to stay on for the conference dinner and help us celebrate the APSEA awards. You can find all of the information and register here.

The SSSI TasWater Seminar which was held in Launceston in early July was sold-out, with a great line up of speakers including  Anthony O'Flaherty, Matt Tilyard, Patrick Kent-Fahey, Martin Ankor, Timothy Walley and Jason Taylor plus Michael Giudici (Surveyor-General Tasmania) and Paul Digney.

As a result of this event, two working groups have formed to progress some of the issues discussed. Thank you everyone for your involvement.

Later in July, the YP Committee held a Meet and Greet speed networking event at the Prince of Wales. It was fantastic to hear from the guest speakers and then get a chance to meet and speak with some new faces. A wonderfully diverse crowd was there, from first-year Uni students to highly experienced professionals. There was lots of positive feedback on the night - congratulations to the YPs, all the credit goes to you for organising and running it so well! Thank you also to TasWater for your support of this event.
