Welcome to the March edition of the TAS Geomessage and a special welcome to our newest Tasmanian members!

It is wonderful to see some new faces on the Tasmanian Regional Committee. Thank you to all the new Committee members for volunteering your time and I hope that you will find it a rewarding experience.   The Committee has already met multiple times this year and have been busy planning events for this year and discussing issues relevant to our members.

In March, SSSI Tasmania was pleased to partner with the Tasmanian Office of the Surveyor-General to present an online workshop on the latest relating to the review of the Strata Titles Act and the CRSBANZ National Standard of Competency for Surveyors project. This current targeted consultation process forms part of the first steps to amend the Strata Titles Act 1998. We hope you were able to attend - don't forget you can catch up with past webinars via our eCPD.

Also, in March the State of GIS returns, and this year is sure to be another popular event. The hybrid format will allow both in person and virtual attendance options, allowing greater access for all interested in joining us. Last year the in-person option sold out, so get your registrations in early to avoid missing out.

Finally, the planning has begun for the SSSI Annual Tasmanian Conference in September. This year the Conference will be back in Hobart and is going to be combined with a special celebration event, more information to be released soon.

If you have any questions or would like to get involved with the SSSI, please reach out to me at chair.tas@sssi.org.au.
