Please find below information on what is happening at the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute Victoria as of November 2018.
As this is an election year for the Victorian Regional Committee, your new committee met on October 30th. Lindsay Perry was elected Chair for 2019 and Andrej Mocicka Chair Elect. We also welcome new committee members in Melinda Borg who has taken on the role of Treasurer, David Kelly who will look after the SIC Commission and Noor Raziq who will be a General Representative. They join continuing committee members Chris Bellman, Frazer Wilson, Geoff Patterson, Mohsen Kalantari, Zita Ultmann who will be looking after Women in Spatial and Thierry Demathieu Past Chair who continues as SSSI Representative on the Surveying Taskforce with Mary Rabling and liaise with Destination Spatial. I would like to acknowledge the efforts of Thierry who signed up many new student members and mentored Zita to encourage her to take on the role of convenor of Women in Spatial.
This is probably the strongest committee at the commencement of a year that we have had for some time, with a blend of experience and new blood, we look forward to helping members get the most out of their involvement with SSSI.
Your committee is holding a planning day on Saturday December 1st to develop a program of activities for 2019 and discuss input on the Strategic Project Plan for 2018-2019 which is part of the SSSI Strategic Road Map 2018-2021.
