The SSSI South Australian Regional Committee is a dedicated group of professionals who volunteer their time to provide services to South Australian members, and to advance the status of Spatial Information and technologies in the State.
The Regional committee for 2019-21 has just been elected and is made up of Commission and General representatives, all of whom work together to deliver services to members. It is encouraging that we continue to have a significant number of young people on the committee, a testament to the success of the SSSI Young Professionals in supporting emerging professionals to take up leadership roles, both in South Australia and nationally.
Commission representatives are there specifically to ensure that the needs of each professional group are met through focussed communications, professional development events and certification. Commission representatives are active both at a regional level, and at a national level, where strategic direction and operational goals are set by the National Commission committees.
The Local Government and Women in Spatial special interest groups also have representation on the SA Regional committee.
