Chair Report – Roshni Sharma
I am so pleased to announce that at the recent Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards ceremony, the SSSI National Young Professionals Committee received one of the highest honours of the evening, the SSSI President's Award for 2019.
The President, Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse, bestowed the award in specific recognition of our mentoring program's success and our involvement in the Bushfire Recovery Map-a-thon. Our Committee volunteers are such a dedicated, diverse and knowledgable team, I feel so grateful to work with them!
There were so many deserved winners on the night from across the spatial industry of Australia and New Zealand. We feel so proud to be recognised amongst such distinguished company. Visit the APSEA website for details of all the winners on the night or click here if you would like to watch the ceremony for free.
The committee is always open to submissions from the community on things that we could do better, feedback on past events, ideas for new events, or anything that might make the YPs better than ever. Please send an email to email@example.com.
