Hydrography Graduates Listing

The Hydrography Graduates Listing lists new graduates who have expressed interest in work experience in hydrography surveying. Businesses that have the capacity to offer work experience over a short period of time can access the list of candidates and view their resumes. The aim of this connection is to facilitate training and education for new graduates on what hydrographic surveying is about and to provide guidance on the pathway to a career in hydrography.

  • Name, current education being undertaken

Resumes will be provided on request to survey companies.

To register on the list

New graduates are welcome to register interest in  hydrography work experience, however:

  • To be eligible to be on the list, graduates should be SSSI Student or Graduate members and be undergoing training in a survey-related discipline.
  • Graduates must have had some survey training (pre-requisite) and are interested in finding out more about Hydrographic surveying
Businesses 

Businesses with capacity to provide training and job experience are encouraged to assist in providing training and guidance to the new graduates, including advice on a path to a career in hydrography. 

  • The business will be responsible to provide a clear experience and learning scope to the candidate
  • The business can access the resumes of graduates and interview potential candidates for an interview the work experience
  • The duration of the work experience should last a minimum period of 2 weeks.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

CPD points are awarded to the training supervisor and the candidate, in accordance with the SSSI CPD policy. CPD points will be accrued at a rate of 1 CPD point per hour, to a maximum of 5 points per year.

For work experience candidates who do not currently have a Level 1 or 2 certification, CPD points achieved through the work experience can be saved for use in their first year of certification. The number of CPD points that can be carried forward after certification as outlined in the SSSI CPD policy.
