Roshni Sharma

Chair & NSW Representative

Roshni is the Chair of the SSSI YPs and has been since 2018. She works as a GIS Specialist for Umwelt (Australia), a renowned Australian-owned environmental consultancy based in the Hunter. She has a background in spatial analysis grounded in environmental science and management. Roshni is passionate about creating opportunities for students and young professionals in the spatial sciences to pave the way forward for their careers.

Jason Heritage

Jason Heritage

VIC Representative

Jason completed his studies at the University of South Australia before moving to Melbourne to work for the Surveyor-General Victoria as a Data Analyst on the Digital Cadastre Modernisation Project. The project aims to modernise the authoritative digital representation of the State’s land parcel and property boundaries. He has been an active member of the SSSI and found that volunteering is a great way to meet people from all areas of the industry.

Dan Reimers

Dan Reimers

NT Representative

Dan finished the 3 year Bachelor of Spatial Science Degree in 2011 and became a Grade 2 Authorised Mining Surveyor. In 2018 he completed the 4th year of the Bachelor of Spatial Science Degree and is now in a Professional Training Agreement with the Northern Territory Government to become a Licenced Cadastral Surveyor.

Michael Topp

Michael Topp

QLD Representative

Michael works as a Surveyor for Veris Australia based in Brisbane. Michael is currently undertaking the QLD surveyors board cadastral endorsement. Michael is passionate about advocacy of surveying and spatial sciences, encouraging young bright minds into the profession. He volunteers his time with SSSI and various educational institutes with the goal of spreading the exciting opportunities surveying and spatial sciences have to offer.

Sam Fulton

Sam Fulton

SA Representative

Sam graduated with an honours degree in Applied Geographical Information Systems from Flinders University, completing a thesis on hyperspectral variability of seagrass species. He is currently working in the engineering department at the City of Mitcham, specialising in GIS and asset management. He joined SSSI in 2018 and is now Chair of the SA Young Professionals. He has a passion for pursuing innovation and thinking outside of the box.

Nelson Kuna

Nelson Kuna

Tas Representative

Nelson graduated top of year 2010 Bachelor of Geophysical Sciences from The Southampton University School of Ocean and Earth Sciences, National Oceanography Centre. After two years working offshore conducting geophysical, hydrographic, geotechnical and environmental surveys for the oil, gas and renewable energy industry he moved to Australia. Since then he has been working nearshore and inland in support of coastal management, engineering, safety of navigation, dredging, ports and harbours most notably for The Queensland Government Department of Transport and Main Roads, Maritime Safety Queensland Hydrographic Services.

Donny Darmawan

Donny Darmawan

NSW Representative

Donny is the NSW Spatial and Data Engineering Lead at Arup. He spent two years consulting in the UK for the High-Speed Rail 2 project as GIS lead before moving back to Sydney to support infrastructure projects within the state. His role is to provide spatial solutions to shape a better world. He is passionate about raising awareness for surveying and spatial technologies to everyone. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Science (GIS) and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Surveying and Spatial Information Science).

Madhavi Sharkarling

Madhavi Sharkarling

NSW Representative

Madhavi is currently studying a Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology (GIS) from the University of Southern Queensland and previously completed a Bachelor of Business Administration from Macquarie University. She works within a Utility Locating and Mapping team at Transport for NSW and previously worked as a Surveyor on the Sydney Metro project. As someone new to the industry, Madhavi is excited about building her networks through volunteering with SSSI and the opportunity this presents to give back to her profession and the wider community.
